Psypact- Authority to Practice Inter-jurisdictional Telepsychology

PSYPACT - The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact - was formed to facilitate telehealth and temporary in-person, face-to-face practice of mental health services across state lines. It’s essentially an agreement between participating states that allows licensed psychologists to practice in any of those states as long as they hold a license in one of them. That means Dr. Roginsky can now offer psychological assessment services to adolescents and adults nationwide in many states using a secure telehealth platform. In addition to the PSYPACT states listed below, Dr. Roginsky is licensed in New York State.

How do TeleHealth Assessments work?

The client and their parents complete several online measures before the appointment, which provide a behavioral overview and targeted areas of concern. This information helps identify the types of difficulties a person is experiencing, how they manage them in their daily life and other factors that may be at play.

The client and parent will complete a thorough intake to learn more about the client’s current and historical functioning and how they experience sensory and social events. We will also ask you to sign releases for schools, therapists, doctors, and other individuals who may be able to give helpful information to inform the assessment process.

Depending on the referral question, testing may occur over one or several telehealth sessions. For example, separate sessions will examine cognitive, memory/executive, and academic functioning as needed. This information will be analyzed and written into a report with clear conclusions and recommendations, following a neuro-diversity affirmative approach.

When the report is completed, a feedback session will be scheduled. This includes explaining results, recommendations, and next steps for suggested follow-up. The goal is that by the end of this process, the individual has a clear understanding of their strengths and differences and some resources to explore them in a safe and supportive environment.

**Telehealth Assessments are only offered to individuals aged 13 and up. A full-size laptop or tablet and a microphone, headset, and webcam are required to enable smooth communication.**
